Minister Damien English has officially opened Phase 1A and Phase 1B, and turned the sod for Phase 2A, of Cork city’s North West Quarter Regeneration Project.
Phase 2a of the development comprises 47 units. Works include construction of 1km of new roadway, realignment of 1km of existing live carriageway, utility diversions, new storm infrastructure to divert and attenuate existing flows through the site to facilitate future phases, new foul network, new watermain and new utility installations for the development. The dwelling units include two- and three-storey houses and three-storey apartment units, each with their own individual entrance and external space.
AtkinsRéalis are providing civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering and Assigned Certifier services for Phase 2a. The firm was also involved in developing the infrastructure associated with the overall masterplan for the site, which comprises 550 units and includes a significant adjustment to the road network in the area.
