Overview

AtkinsRéalis one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland and is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join the Transportation team based in Dublin, Dundalk, Cork or Galway office.

You will be a Commercial Manager embedded within our Irish business, working on large infrastructure schemes including rail. You will support contract and cost management activities, ensuring accurate forecasting, reporting, and governance. This role requires strong collaboration with client and contractor teams to deliver project objectives and drive commercial excellence.

Your role

  • Administer a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications.
  • Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage delivery of project KPIs, programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Manage contract changes effectively, ensuring governance compliance and adoption of best practices.
  • Drive improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Resolve contractual disputes and support risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contract management, cost control, risk mitigation, and ensuring profitability while maintaining compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Mentor and support junior project controls staff.

About you

  • Possess a proven track record of delivering Civil Construction projects to successful completion for all parties.
  • Relevant Level 8 degree or Higher level qualification in Engineering, Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Familiarity with other Irish Forms of Contracts such as GCC and FIDIC.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or large scale construction projects.
  • Rail experience (not essential but desirable).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
