AtkinsRéalis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices across Ireland and is currently seeking a Project Controls Lead to join the Transportation team. This can be a remote working role but the candidate must be based, or willing to be based in Ireland.

As Project Controls Lead, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of project controls systems and processes across complex infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, planners, cost engineers, and stakeholders to ensure robust planning, cost control, risk management, and reporting.

Your role

  • Lead the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules and cost plans.
  • Oversee performance measurement, forecasting, and reporting across all project phases.
  • Generate progress reports, KPIs, and dashboards for clients and management.
  • Implement and manage earned value management (EVM) systems and tools.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Managing change control processes and ensuing compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with client requirements and governance frameworks.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support decision-making.

About you

  • Proven track record in cost control, planning, and schedule management.
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
  • Familiarity with other Irish Forms of Contracts such as GCC and FIDIC.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or large scale construction projects.
  • Rail experience (not essential but desirable).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
