Harry Reynolds Road official opening

AtkinsRéalis was delighted to attend the recent opening of the Harry Reynolds Road Pedestrian & Cycle Route in Balbriggan. Opened by Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, in the presence of Minister for Transport and Minister for Climate, Environment and Energy, Darragh O’Brien TD, this project is a significant step forward in enhancing connectivity and promoting active travel in Balbriggan.

3km-long, the €16m upgrade provides a fully segregated pedestrian and cycle route, designed to promote confidence and safety when walking, wheeling and cycling.

Appointed by Fingal County Council as lead engineering consultants for the scheme, AtkinsRéalis provided all multidisciplinary services through the NTA Project Approval Phases 2 to 7, delivering the scheme through concept and feasibility, preliminary design, planning, detailed design, tender, construction, and handover.

This is an exemplar active travel scheme combining high quality facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. It links multiple schools, housing estates and industrial premises, supporting the local community in choosing to travel more sustainably in a safe and connected way.
