N2 Clontibret to Castleblayney 2+1 Road Realignment Design Build Contract

Realignment of the N2 National Primary Route over a distance of 16kms between Moy Otra, to the north of Clontibret and Drumcrew to the south of Castleblayney.  AtkinsRéalis were commissioned by Monaghan County Council to progress the scheme through a Design and Build Procurement Contract which included all services to be provided for Phase 5, Phase 6 and Phase 7 of the NRA Projeect Management Guidelines for this 17km rural 2+1 Carriageway scheme on the N2 National Primary route between Dublin to Derry.

The mainline comprises a 2+1 carriageway with limited access to existing roads and adjoining lands through at grade and grade separated junctions at several locations.  The scheme comprises 16kms of high quality 2+1 lane carriageway National Primary Road, approx. 7kms of standard single 2 lane carriageway (Regional and County and Local Roads), approx. 6.4kms of single carriageway farm access roads; 3 no. at-grade roundabouts and associated link roads on the N2 carriageway, two-grade-separated junctions and associated slip roads, 3 no. right turn priority junctions on wide single carriageway, farm accesses, 5 no. priority junctions on Regional, County and Local type roads, 22 no. principal structures.
